I started with the idea of using all-welded construction with the finest marine aluminum metals and the best marine hardware available. Then I filled the sponsons with two-pound Coast Guard foam flotation. That makes the boats virtually impossible to sink or take on water. In fact, during Coast Guard testing , we found that even with the transom drain plug removed, a SEALT Boat will only submerge to the deck level of the boat. That makes it virtually impossible for the outboard engine to go under water.
